Our suppliers

Moyo

Is a small company, which creates Contemporary African design using local fabrics and materials. Since the company was set up in 2007, It has trained local people and now employs 6 full time workers as tailors and beaders at the companies workshop in Dar es salaam.

Wonder welders

The wonder welders project was set up to train and provide employment for disabled people. Using a whole range of recycled materials they have created a unique and quirky range of giftware from glass, paper, metal and wood.

Nzito

Nzito uses driftwood and hardwoods recycled from used dhow boats to create a range of products that ooze with texture and age.

Mabinti

Mabinti works with homeless and disadvantaged young women. At their workshop in the capital Dar es salaam they provide training in a variety of craft based skills such as printing, stitching, dying and beading. They aim to improve the quality of life for vulnerable women by teaching them a trade and developing their life and entrepreneurial skills. It is hoped this will empower them to become economically independent and help reintegrate them into their community. The women remain at the centre for about a year and are then helped and guided into employment and independent living. This is a great project, doing fabulous, sustainable work and making beautiful products.
