Wonder welders

The Wonder welders project is based in Dar es salaam the capital of Tanzania. It was set up to train and provide employment for disabled people. Using a whole range of recycled materials they have created a unique and quirky range of giftware from glass, paper, metal and wood. You can visit their website on www.wonderwelders.org

Nzito

Nzito uses driftwood and hardwoods recycled from used dhow boats to create a range of products that ooze with texture and age. Seasoned over many years by sun and sea, when these boats reach the end of their useful life they are dismantled, left to dry, treated for wood boring insects. They are then handcrafted by the Nzito team into furniture and an extensive range of gifts. Touch and you can almost feel the Indian Ocean!
